Cognitive Science Major Planning Form

The COGS Major Planning form is a tool that we developed to assist students in mapping out the courses they hope to take to complete the Cognitive Science major. It is used for deferring or declaring the major for administrators and it helps students to project the ten approved classes they want to take to complete major requirements. It does not commit the student to taking the courses selected on the form and only reflects a potential course path for someone to successfully complete the major. The list of courses found on this page may be helpful in filling out the course planning form before declaring or deferring.

Computer Science Concentration Form

Required for all students who plan to concentrate in Computer Science as CogSci majors but who are not double majoring with Computer Science. It must be completed and signed by John Hott in the Computer Science department before declaring Cognitive Science.

Double Major with BACS (BA in Computer Science) Form

Used with students double majoring in Cognitive Science and the interdisciplinary Computer Science Program in the School of Arts & Sciences. It should be completed at the time of declaring a major in Cognitive Science and will be used for advising. The requirements for both majors overlap, and this form is necessary for insuring completion of both programs.

Double Major with Psychology

Used with students double majoring in Cognitive Science and Psychology. It should be completed at the time of declaring a major in Cognitive Science and will be used for advising. The requirements for both majors overlap, and this form is necessary for insuring completion of both programs.

Distinguished Major Application

Used by third-year applicants to apply for acceptance into the Distinguished Major Program.
