Peer Mentorship Opportunities
The Learning Hub
The Learning Hub is a cognitive-science-based mentoring program that pairs trained fourth-year Cognitive Science majors with small groups of first-year students. Over six biweekly sessions, mentors lead structured activities that teach evidence-based study strategies to strengthen students’ motivation, self-efficacy, and academic performance. As a mentor, you receive training in the research behind the intervention and in small-group facilitation, and you help administer brief pre- and post-session assessments that allow us to evaluate the program’s impact. Eligible mentors may enroll in PSYC 3590 (3 credits) for their work, gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of cognitive science, teaching, and applied research.

Undergraduate TA Opportunities
Undergraduate Teaching Experience
The Undergraduate Teaching Experience offers Cognitive Science majors the opportunity to serve as undergraduate TAs in two core courses: PSYC 2150 Introduction to Cognition and PSYC 2200 Survey of the Neural Basis of Behavior. TAs support student learning by assisting with course activities and serving as a resource for students in and around class. Participants can earn up to 1 credit of PSYC 3560 Undergraduate Teaching Experience for their work. To be eligible, students must have previously taken the course they wish to TA for and be available to attend the regular class time.
