Headings organize the text of the page providing in-page navigation for websites. The most important heading rank is "Heading 1," and the least important heading rank is "Heading 6." Skipping heading ranks should be avoided whenever possible because it can cause confusion. 

Heading 1

  • "Heading 1" is used for the title of the entire site. Avoid using this header in the body.

Heading 2

  • "Heading 2" is the first header in the document, indicating the beginning of the main content. Usually, this is used as the "Title" when creating a content page. Avoid using this header in the body of the page.

Heading 3

  • "Heading 3" is what is used throughout the site in the body text as section headers. This is also use with the shortcode to create accordion content

Heading 4

  • Use this header as a subheader on your body text to establish hierarchy
Heading 5
  • This displays as subtext and works well for disclaimers or other items that should be listed but should differentiate from the regular text.
Heading 6

Normal

  • "Normal" should be used as the main content text of web page.
