Link Text to a Document in Content

  • Open the content page that you will upload a document to
    • For this example, we will be using a basic page
  • In the "Body," highlight text that will link to an internal file
  • Click on "Link" in the gadgets menu

  • Click on "Browse Server"

  • Click on "Upload" > Click on "Choose File" > Choose the desired file from your computer > Click "Upload" 

  • Click "Insert File"

  • Click "Ok"

  • Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type

Link Text to an External Website in Content

  • Open the content page that you will link text to an external website
    • For this example, we will be using a basic page
  • In the "Body," highlight text that will link to an external website
  • Click on "Link" in the gadgets menu

  • Enter the URL of the external website 

  • Click "Ok"
  • Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type

Link Text to an Internal Website in Content

  • Open the content page that you will link text to an internal website
    • For this example, we will be using a basic page
  • In the "Body," highlight text that will link to an internal website
  • Click on "Link" in the gadgets menu

  • Enter the URL of the internal website 
    • Internal websites uses the Protocol <other> and begin with a forward slash (/)
    • Only what you want to link to internally, not the main URL,
      • Example: sociology.com/about (only enter "/about" to the protocol)

  • Click "Ok"
  • Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type

Change Target Window

    • You can change the target window of a "Link" in the "Target" tab

    • If you would like your document to open on the same page, leave the Target as "<not set>"
    • If you would like your document to open on the new tab, click "Target" > choose "New Window (_blank) > Click "Ok"

    • Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type
